The purpose of automated HVAC fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) is to utilize real-time system data to identify problematic issues before system performance is compromised. When used in conjunction with a service maintenance agreement, your system will have the complete set of tools necessary to ensure issues are addressed for your day-to-day operations and analytics that will help prevent future failures and maximize the life of your equipment.

Fault Detection Diagnostics & Analytics

Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) is a continuous, preventative process that detects and alerts staff of equipment issues and helps to identify the root cause BEFORE system performance is compromised.

FDD notifications are automatically generated in the WebCTRL® system to warn operators of system problems, which may be causing equipment to run inefficiently, wasting energy and/or degrading occupant comfort, or causing premature wear/reduced life of HVAC equipment. The Department of Energy estimates FDD alarming can reduce energy use by up to 15%.

Reports can be generated to visually display the quantity and type of alarms for specific equipment, allowing maintenance staff to quickly identify problematic equipment and to take corrective action.
